You already know that I love my family soososososo much but guess what else!? I Love 2nd grade! Here is a picture of just a few of the cutie pie awesome smartie people that I get to hang out with everyday. I love them. I love how they are exactly who they are and nothing else. No excuses or apologies. No pretending to be something more or less. They are friends with each other. They are honest human beings with amazing personalities. I picture them all being great grown ups one day.
I have always understood the Saviors words when he tells us to become as the little chidren. My second graders are perfect examples! Humble, teachable. They love everyone and accept them as they are. They are comfortable with who they are. They are upset or happy when they are upset or happy. They don't pretend not to be. They listen. They want to do well. Even though they try hard they often make mistakes. They use erasers like there is no end to erasing ever. Erasers are at a premium here. If you have an pencil and an eraser, you have everything! This makes me think of the great principle of repentance. We should all be so quick to erase our mistakes and try again. These little people teach me and delight me and make my day fly by. Unexpectedly they will give me gifts...like homemade from crayons and pink paper a pencil holder or a brand new eraser that they just bought at the school store! They are so sweet and giving. Like the Little Stream! Everyday that I am with them I understand more fully the scripture that says "of such is the kingdom of heaven." It is easy to be with them. I love my job.
