Kanon finding rocks. He can skip anything.

Yes! More camping! We had some fun this time near Cascade Lake. At first when we were setting up camp we were all so crabby and hot and tired that I thought we were going to kill each other. I sincerely wished I could be camping with some other family or alone! After camp was set up we walked down to the lake and then slowly the magic of playing in the water, skipping rocks, jumping waves and writing in the sand soothed our souls and we were friends again. whew!

Kanon really wanted to get to another beach, but didn't really want to submerse and couldn't get there just wading. Down the beach he found a dead fallen tree that went over a boggy inlet to the other side. It looked shallow, but had an extreme drop off. It was very deep! (some kayakers were measuring it and almost lost their six foot paddles.) We teased him about leeches, bog monsters and alligators lurking beneath. The tree looked like death by stabbing for anyone who would cross on it with all of its dead branches, but Kanon was determined to get to the other side.

Slowly bear crawling across he got about half way when the loose bark gave way under his foot and he lurched sideways and was plunged into the murky inlet. HAHAHA we enjoyed that thoroughly after he came up and we were sure he wasn't stabbed. So much for not submerging.....But he did make it to the other side. Kanon has conquered!

Thanks Kanon for the entertainment.

I'm so glad Mother Nature's nunchuck skills stopped you from killing each other...I mean...what?

Cool pictures Hansel.
I especially love the Kanon in power stance picture.

MORE CAMPING MORE CAMPING MORE CAMPING MORE CAMPING! I wish I wish with all my heart to go camping in a land apart ... from this nasty Kansas humidity that doesn't cool down, even during the night, until November.
Love these stories. :)
